Texel Air operates as an ACMI/charter cargo airline providing bespoke air cargo solutions across Australia and New Zealand. With headquarters at Auckland airport and a significant operations centre in Brisbane, Texel Air supports a broad and dynamic network. Texel Air Limited is a sister airline to the successful Bahrain-based Texel Air WLL, which serves global clients from its centrally located headquarters in Bahrain. The Chief Financial Officer role, based in Auckland, will lead the finance functions across both New Zealand and Australia. As CFO, you will oversee a small but capable finance team fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring robust people leadership and encouraging best-practice business partnering. This is a unique opportunity to join an organisation experiencing significant growth, requiring adaptability and a proactive mindset to capitalise on emerging commercial opportunities. Texel Air is currently embedding a new ERP system (Wiise) across its operations. A key priority for the incoming CFO will be to partner with an external consultant to stabilise and optimise this system and related digital tools. This role calls for a hands-on leader who can drive improvements in financial reporting timelines and enhance forecasting and business performance analysis, offering senior leadership team members well-developed finance business partner capabilities. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in CFO or Group Financial Controller roles, ideally in organisations with complexity and scale. Candidates must demonstrate the following key competencies:
- People Leadership: proven ability to build inspire and lead high-performing teams.
- Finance Business partnering: Exceptional commercial acumen, with the ability to provide insight and support to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Technical Expertise: strong accounting and financial management skills, with formal accounting qualifications (CA, CPA or equivalent).
- Systems and Process development: Experience with ERP systems and business process optimisation, particularly within industries subject to high levels of regulation and compliance such as aviation.
- Flexibility and Agility: ability to adapt and pivot in response to new opportunities, navigating the challenges and opportunities of a growing business.
- Technology Savvy: a solid understanding of how digital tools can support efficiency and performance, without necessarily being a technology expert yourself.
