We are looking for a Frontend Engineer II who is passionate about creating intuitive, scalable, and dynamic user interfaces that empower our customers to build and scale their businesses effortlessly. As a Frontend Engineer II at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team, reporting to the Frontend Engineering Manager. You will collaborate with designers, backend developers, and product managers to translate requirements into beautiful, functional user interfaces. The ideal candidate is someone who is excited to push frontend technology while ensuring a high level of performance and usability. What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain responsive and scalable frontend applications using HTML , CSS , JavaScript , TypeScript , React.js , and Redux .
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design prototypes into pixel-perfect and responsive interfaces while ensuring accessibility and performance.
- Work closely with backend developers to consume and display data efficiently using APIs.
- Use Git for version control to manage codebases effectively and participate in peer code reviews to maintain coding standards.
- Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or performance bottlenecks in production and development environments.
- Provide insights and ideas to enhance our tech stack and processes, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in HTML , CSS , and JavaScript with a strong understanding of web development fundamentals.
- Advanced experience with React.js and Redux , building dynamic, scalable, and reusable frontend components.
- Strong skills in TypeScript to ensure type safety and improved development workflows.
- Familiarity with WordPress usage and integration in dynamic web applications.
- Basic understanding of MySQL and the ability to collaborate with backend engineers to consume data effectively.
- Experience in translating designs into production-ready, pixel-perfect frontend code.
- Competence in Git version control, including branching, merging, and collaboration practices.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in micro-frontends.
- Knowledge of modern frontend tools and workflows, such as Webpack, Babel, or similar.
- An understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with frontend deployments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
