Drafter / Designer in Bespoke Furniture Design – Co. Galway Are you interested in being part of a family-run business with a heritage dating back seven generations to 1796? Responsibilities:
- Read and understand brief from your project manager and convert them into drawings.
- Communicate effectively with project manager / co-workers to cover all aspects of manufacturing in the design.
- Design and develop 3D models of bespoke furniture products using SolidWorks.
- Create full working production drawing packs and templates, clearly noting all details for manufacturing department (training will be provided).
- Liaise with production floor providing or accepting creative and technical advice where necessary.
- Some site surveys may be required.
Experience/Skills:
- At least 1 year experience in producing detailed drawings of bespoke furniture for manufacture – using SolidWorks / Swood is preferred but not essential – training is provided to all design staff on starting with our client.
- A strong understanding of furniture production methods and materials.
- A proven ability to generate accurate, detailed production drawings / technical drawings.
- A vast range of product knowledge is required, an attitude to learn / research due to the highly bespoke nature of our business.
- Excellent organisational skills to meet timelines and strong attention to detail.
- Methodical approach to design.
- A passion for furniture.
