Director of Accounting

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of clients of variable sizes across different industries.
• Managing Accountancy Services to a bureau of clients which will include (but is not limited to):
• Review of monthly/quarterly management accounts.
• Review of Unaudited Year-End Statutory Accounts.
• Advising clients with systems of financial control.
• Company Secretarial Advice and Compliance including Maintaining Company Registers & Minutes where required.
• Help drive the firm's accounting technology strategy to best serve our clients and project manage the roll out of new accounting solutions.
• Assist with managing the team's financial performance e.g. agreeing and billing of fees; cash collections; monitoring recoverability of WIP etc.
• Participate in the coaching, mentoring and appraisal of staff. This role requires an experienced, positive, self-motivated individual with superior organizational and technical skills who can execute multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure a high level of professional standards.

Skills and competencies required:

• ACA or ACCA with minimum 7 years PQE.
• Minimum of 5 years+ relevant post qualified work experience in practice with strong technical knowledge and financial/management accounts experience.
• Proven management skills and behaviors.
• Excellent organizational skills, time-management and communication skills.
• A strong market/commercial awareness.
• Working knowledge of accounting software packages such as Surf, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar with a high aptitude and interest for using new software.
• Ability to use and implement AI-based accounting software, accounting tools and connected app functionality in house and to clients.
• Client-oriented with initiative, enthusiasm and problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with maximum discretion.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and decision making when necessary.
