Engineering Manager

Primary responsibility of the Engineering Manager is to ensure all the engineering systems of the building are in the highest operating condition, all engineering requests are attended to, and maintenance of all equipment is carried out and kept operational. Reporting to the Cluster Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

1. Demonstrate Fairmont's brand service standards in all interactions.
2. Ensure that colleagues working in the team follow the Fairmont standards.
3. Ensure all requests are attended to within a minimum time period and resolved to the highest quality.
4. Ensure all required documentation is completed.
5. Coordinate any inspections from government authorities (DM, CDA, DEWA, etc.) and answer queries to the satisfaction of authorities.
6. Coordinate with all engineering contractors to carry out their work.
7. Ensure engineering store is correctly maintained and parts stock levels are maintained.
8. Supervise strict adherence to safety rules by all colleagues at all times.
9. Conduct departmental training and ensure training programs and records are up to date.
10. Follow Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
11. Ensure adherence to Fairmont's Code of Ethics.

1. Minimum of 2 years of technical education training certificate or diploma in any relevant trade.
2. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in any 5-star hotel engineering operation.
3. 3 years of hands-on experience working in the respective trade.
4. Previous hotel experience is an asset.
5. Experience working in the UAE is an asset.
6. Must be flexible in terms of working hours.
7. A self-starter who takes initiative and can make decisions in a fast-paced & changing environment.
8. Computer literacy in Windows, MS Office Suite, and OPERA BMS systems is recommended.
9. Responsible & reliable.
10. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

3. Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting.
4. Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
