Senior Design Engineer

Job Title: Senior Design Engineer Sector: Refrigeration Contract Term: Permanent Reporting To: Head of Design Hours: 36 hours per week Purpose and objectives of the role

• Reporting to the Head of Technical, this role plays a crucial role in guiding and managing the design process within a team.
• Main duties and responsibilities
• Project Management: Overseeing design projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints
• Team Leadership: Leading and mentoring a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster professional growth
• Collaboration: Coordinating with other departments, such as marketing, engineering, and product management, to ensure cohesive and effective design solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensuring all design outputs meet the company's quality standards and align with brand guidelines.
• Innovation: Encouraging creativity and innovation within the team to develop unique and effective design solutions.
• Technical Skills: Utilising various design tools and software, such as CAD, SolidWorks, and Adobe Creative Suite, to create and review designs.
• Client Interaction: Communicating with clients to understand their needs and incorporating their feedback into the design process.
• Strategic Planning: Developing long-term design strategies that align with the company's goals and market trends

• Robust knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD design software. (Solidworks is essential)
• Previous experience in design to manufacture is essential
• Hands on practical skills
• Ability to work without supervision and deliver projects effectively and on time

• Minimum NVQ level 2 or other relevant refrigeration qualification.
