Fire Alarm Technician
Job details
We are seeking a Full-Time Fire Alarm Service Inspection Technician to add to the team. The Technician performs all service and testing activities as assigned, and ensures that all service calls are completed according to the prescribed guidelines and processes. The Technician at times may need to assist with installations. Additionally, the Technician is required to complete assigned paperwork and billing materials within the allocated time. This role requires travel within British Columbia, mostly within 1-2 hours distance and some overnight stays for remote clients. Benefits

- Perform inspection activities on electrical fire alarm systems.
- Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operational/product manuals.
- Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshoot problems
- Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective methods to return equipment to working order.
- Technicians must have Fire Alarm – CFAA certified
- Technicians shall have Backflow – BCWA
- Technicians shall have Extinguishers – ASTTBC
- Technicians shall have Emergency Lighting – ASTTBC
- Technicians shall have ASTTBC RFPT Certification or comparable qualification
- Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license
- Technicians shall have experience as a Service Technician within the Fire Alarm industry
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40 lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding
- Excellent Customer Service
- Customer service focused with ability to adapt to changing customer needs
- You have a desire to problem-solve and help the customer meet their needs.
- You demonstrate a professional and pleasant attitude when faced with a frustrated customer
- Basic computer skills are a requirement
- Inspection, maintenance, repairs and small add on’s of Fire alarm systems
- Fire extinguisher inspection.
- Emergency light testing.
- Technicians with Sprinklers System testing Certification–ASTTBC is a plus
- Technicians with Suppression Training – ASTTBC + Manufacturer Certifications is a plus
- Kitchen suppression certification a plus
- Manlift certification is an asset.
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail about care about quality and aesthetics
