Position: Full-Time (Salary) Architectural Designer (Kincardine Office) Head Offices: Listowel, Ontario and Kincardine, Ontario This is an in-office full-time position with possible hybrid accommodations after the probationary period, with a flexible work model that supports a blend of in-office, remote, and on-site appointments with clients as required. This position will report to the Kincardine office location. About Us: Alora Designs Inc. is an architectural design service offering solutions for new construction, addition and renovation projects. We specialize in design services for the residential, agricultural and commercial industry and are seeking a designer to join our team as we expand our business. We are seeking a dynamic individual to bring our client’s vision to life through a seamless process of creative design, meticulous planning, and flawless project execution. Key Responsibilities: As part of the Alora Design team, the successful candidate will support our Lead Designer and Sales team with the set-up and preparation of CAD / BIM working plans and technical drawings for various residential design projects from preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, quotations, specification sheets and other data. We are looking for a candidate who can read, interpret, and prepare drawings and document all relevant changes in a timely manner, and examine drawings for conformity and errors. All work needs to be performed as per job specifications, within set deadlines and with high accuracy.
- Consult with clients to prepare high quality conceptual design drawings and full construction layouts for residential projects.
- Contribute to the analysis, planning, and preparation of site planning documents.
- Assist in the coordination of construction details with contractors and trade professionals.
- Attend on or offsite meetings with clients in collaboration with sales team and associated trades during the planning and execution process.
- Prepare, read, interpret, and revise drawings, and other graphical representations used in building projects.
- Attend events or meeting where required to promote our services and brand.
- Work within corporate safety standards ensuring personal safety and contributing to the safety of others in the workplace.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Diploma or Degree in Architectural Construction Technology.
- 3+ years experience working as an Architectural Technologist applying OBC standards.
- Experience with Architectural Residential Design
- BCIN qualified designer (house/small buildings)
- Minimum 1 year Revit experience and an understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Proficient with the use of various Design & Rendering software: Revit, AutoCAD, Lumion, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and other applicable regulations.
- Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving and ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, communication, and time management skills.
- A valid drivers’ license with a clean driving record.
- Projected range $60,000 - $80,000 annual salary
