JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Director, Wholesale, Orage Outerwear & Peppermint Cycling DEPARTMENT: Sales Location This role is hybrid, based in our Montreal HQ, but remote candidates will be considered based on experience and pedigree. 1. SUMMARY (GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES): Reporting to the President, the Wholesale Director is responsible for leading the sales teams in the North American market. He/She aims to maximize, through his/her team of sales managers and representatives, the commercial potential represented by MTNDewds’ current and future customers. He/She ensures the development and implementation of sales strategies and approaches based on growth plans and the corporate business vision, in order to maximize the brand's potential. 2. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS: Sales (wholesale)- Develop a global sales strategy that will stimulate sales force growth, manager and representative productivity and profitability throughout Canada and the US. - Apply national best practices in regional teams to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of all teams across all our markets. - Contribute to the strong presence of the brands in the Canadian and US market. - Seek new customers who are in line with the brand vision, create and maintain privileged business relationships with them. - Represent the company to new customers and ensure that regular follow-ups are maintained with all existing and potential customers. - Lead and coordinate the company's sales activities. - Develop and coordinate the sales cycle and methodology. - Develop and manage sales, supervise the development and management of internal operating budgets. - Analyze and evaluate sales effectiveness, methods, costs and results. - Directly manage major accounts as well as critical customer accounts in development, and coordinate the management of all other accounts. - Participate in the development of new business project proposals. - Establish and implement short and long term operating objectives, policies and procedures. - Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company. - Oversee the preparation, issuance and delivery of sales materials, exhibits and promotional programs. - Recommend and administer policies and procedures to improve operations. - Work with various department heads and corporate staff to develop five-year business plans for the company. - Establish and implement short and long term departmental objectives, objectives, policies and operating procedures. Leadership - Ensure optimization of personnel management practices, which include performance management, staff development, coaching and mentoring. - Make necessary recommendations and implement required changes to the structure of his/her team. - Instill a performance-oriented culture within the team; encourage and reward its application. - Communicate all relevant information on sales methods, techniques and tools. - Meet and build relationships with sales representatives to determine their marketing needs and subsequently develop appropriate strategies. Strategy - Develop a strategic business plan for each sales season (SS and FW) aligned with corporate objectives and validate regularly with team members to achieve sales objectives. - Write annual operating plans that support the strategic direction established by key stakeholders and submit annual plans for approval by key stakeholders. - Maintain a long-term strategic vision of the entire market to take into account industry trends, changes and upcoming growth opportunities. - Identify long-term strategies to attract, recruit and retain representatives. - Act as an advocate and change agent for various technology initiatives and customer relationship management enhancements to ensure they advance the sales strategy. 3. REQUIREMENTS: Experience 5 years of experience in sales management or other related field. Personal characteristics and skills - Leadership and team spirit - Project management skills - Avid passion of skiing, snowsports, biking and other outdoor activities. - Fervent practice of such sports is a huge plus - Established network of relationship across the outdoor industry is a huge plus - Results-oriented - Demonstrates autonomy - Demonstrates a strategic vision - Is dedicated, passionate about his/her field - Excellent organizational skills - Quick to execute - Demonstrates interpersonal skills - Bilingual (French-English, spoken & written)
