Camunda Designer and Developer - Remote - Contractor in USD

For an international project in Washington, we are urgently looking for a full remote Camunda Designer and Developer preferably with Banking Sector experience. Candidates need to have at least 5 years of experience working with process automation platforms, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Camunda.. We are looking for a contractor, who is able to work 2 hours US (Washington) time. This position is long-term. Candidates need to be fluent in English. Tasks and responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy BPMN workflows, DMN decision tables, and case management solutions using Camunda;
- Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to gather and understand process automation requirements;
- Optimize and troubleshoot existing workflows and processes for efficiency, scalability, and performance;
- Develop custom service tasks, connectors, and external task handlers in Java or other supported languages;
- Integrate Camunda workflows with external systems via REST APIs, message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), or microservices;
- Implement process monitoring, logging, and error handling mechanisms;
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for process automation and design;
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
- +5 years of experience working with process automation platforms, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Camunda;
- Strong proficiency in BPMN, DMN, and CMMN standards;
- Solid programming experience in Java (preferred) or equivalent languages, including Spring Framework or Spring Boot;
- Experience integrating Camunda with enterprise systems using REST APIs, Kafka, or similar tools;
- Familiarity with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and query optimization;
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes;
- Familiarity with cloud platforms is a plus;
- Fluent in English;
