Role Overview: The community liaison officer shall be responsible for supporting the project delivery stakeholder management and communications functions throughout the lifecycle of the project. The role holder shall be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the strategic stakeholder engagement strategy (including processes, procedures, controls, systems, and reporting) and ensuring the strategy remains fit for purpose as the project moves through the project lifecycle. You'll be responsible for:
  1. Ensuring efficient and coordinated management of project stakeholders (both internal and external).
  2. Working with the stakeholder lead and stakeholder manager to provide public-facing support and management of the stakeholder engagement strategy.
  3. Providing updates on community engagement to relevant internal project teams and collaborating with delivery contractors to ensure various elements of stakeholder liaison and associated commitments are coordinated and monitored on behalf of the project.
  4. Identifying, assessing, and communicating reputational risks during public-facing engagement to the project team.
  5. Being the main point of contact for community-based stakeholders at specific geographical locations, providing briefings on construction activities, promoting the project, and resolving issues of concern.
  6. Organising and attending meetings and forums as outlined in the strategic stakeholder engagement strategy.
You’ll need to have:
  1. Tangible experience of driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies, and standards.
  2. In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
  3. Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, influencing the improvement of processes and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
  4. Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems is desirable, preferably within the construction sector.
You'll also have:
  1. Ability to manage technical outputs to drive efficiency.
  2. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high-quality service.
  4. BA/BSC in public relations, business, or other related fields.
