Posted In 25/6/2013 Job Description MUREX Technical Specialist Key role & Responsibilities:
  1. Interact with the users to gather core business requirements and assist with the support of both UAT/DR, including documentation of the requirements for socialization to the relevant parties.
  2. Design smart and scalable solutions following the bank's development standards, focusing on Front to Back solutions where industrialization of processes and maximization of STP is paramount.
  3. Coordinate with other teams within Treasury & Capital Markets & Global Technology Operations and respective business counterparts, providing strong support.
  4. Provide 2nd line support and business & technical analysis services to Front, Middle and Back Office staff, resolving application issues from a development and solution perspective.
  5. Provide accurate status updates to Senior Management and engage all relevant stakeholders in partnership.
  6. Mentor existing technical teams and take the lead on MUREX Development Projects, aligning and working within the relevant project structure and reporting to the respective Senior Project Manager.

Job Skills

Competencies & Capabilities Functional skills:
  1. Investment banking / Derivatives
  2. Derivatives Front Office exposure highly desirable (Product Knowledge, Trade Capture, Value Added Risk generation). Trade and Settlement life cycle knowledge.
  3. Middle and Back office processes (trade validation, fixing, settlements, accounting, confirmation, clearing).
  4. FO/BO exchange integration experience highly sought after but not mandatory.
  5. SWIFT messaging and integration.
Technical skills:
  1. Murex (MXG configurations/Payment/Publisher/Datamart)
  2. Murex (MXML, Tasks, Workflows, XSLT, Templates, MQ)
  3. Murex (MReport, Dynamic Table, Simulation, Datamart, Feeders, Optimization, Processing Script)
  4. Financial Markets Knowledge in particular derivatives processing Murex (Trade Workflow, Market Operations, UDF configurations)
  5. Murex (Payment queue, validation, workflow, configurations, STP) Optional
  6. Basic technical knowledge in Unix scripting and RDMS
  7. Knowledge of Sybase and/or Oracle Database platforms, including the construction of complex database queries/updates.
  8. Programming (Java, C++, C Sharp, XML)
Experience:
  1. Motivated, passionate about technology and the Financial Markets.
  2. Proactive, self-starter, autonomous, good analytical skills.
  3. Good team spirit, strong level of oral and written English.
