AECOM invites you to apply for the role of Graduate Highways Engineer within our esteemed Highways team. This opportunity is part of our exclusive 2024 Graduate Program where you will gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in road design and engineering. Role Overview As a Graduate Highways Engineer at AECOM, you will be a key member of our Highways team working on impactful road design projects and gaining exposure to essential design software such as AutoCAD and Civil3D. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in preparing scope of works documents and project design criteria.
- Gain experience in road design including plans, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and signage.
- Utilize PowerPoint to create presentations and progress reports.
- Demonstrate strong communication and technical report writing skills.
- Develop proficiency in road design software.
- Familiarity with engineering standards, codes of practice, and local authority guidelines is advantageous.
- Is passionate about road design and engineering.
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is proficient in design software or willing to learn.
- Has a keen attention to detail and a desire to deliver high-quality work.
- Previous consultancy road design internship experience is a plus.
- Education: Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Academic Status: Applicants should be on track to graduate in 2025 or 2026. Recent graduates (2023/2024) seeking short-term work placement for professional experience may also be considered.
- Start Date: Jan 2025
- Duration: 13 months depending on individual preferences and project requirements (can be extended if required).
- Eligibility: As part of AECOM's commitment to Emiratisation and in compliance with UAE labor law, only UAE Nationals with a family book will be considered for this role.
