About the opportunity Southern Cross University (SCU) is on a mission to shape the future of education through innovative, student focused and industry–engaged programs. As our Director of Professional Experience, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of professional experience programs that transform lives and empower the next generation of educators. In this pivotal role you will: Provide strategic leadership for SCU’s professional experience programs, ensuring they meet accreditation and industry standards. Build strong relationships with schools, early childhood education settings, partners and accreditation bodies to create meaningful student placements. Shape and implement cutting-edge, research led professional experience curricula, aligned with SCU’s teaching and learning values. Oversee the professional development of academic and placement staff, ensuring high-quality supervision and mentoring for SCU students. About you You are an inspiring leader and educator with a track record of excellence in teacher education and professional experience management. You bring: A Ph D or a Professional Doctorate in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related discipline. Extensive experience in managing professional experience programs and meeting accreditation standards. A strong research profile in educational leadership or teacher education, with a commitment to evidence-based practices. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels. A passion for mentoring a leading diverse teams toward shared success. This position is: Full-time, continuing (permanent) Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available. Academic Level E. The base salary is $207,573 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $242,860. (The level of appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience and may be considered at a Level D also.)The base salary for Academic Level D ranges from $161,784 - $177,948 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $208,199.
