Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Machine Learning / Computer Vision Research Scientist (Ph.D.) at Captura team based in Vancouver, BC. The role involves conducting cutting-edge research in machine learning and computer vision, developing algorithms and models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions. The Senior Research Scientist will also be responsible for staying current with industry trends and contributing to the advancement of Captura's technology. Job Responsibilities
- Lead research and development projects in machine learning and computer vision.
- Design, implement, and evaluate advanced algorithms and models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into products.
- Mentor junior researchers and provide technical guidance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field to drive innovation.
- Contribute to the research and development of new and existing AI-powered products.
- Quickly prototype a variety of machine learning algorithms to assess their potential and applicability to our projects.
- Design, run, and analyze experiments, evaluating performance metrics and reporting results to stakeholders.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong background in Machine Learning and Computer Vision
- Experience in developing algorithms and models from scratch
- Knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable working independently, as well as part of a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
- Proficient in Python and PyTorch.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong understanding of computer vision techniques and algorithms.
- Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Experience with more classical ML techniques such as decision trees, naive Bayes, least squares regression, logistic regression, SVM, random forests, etc.
