Job Summary The Application Engineer provides technical expertise on the NTN product line and related applications to internal and external customers. The Application Engineer is responsible for engineered bearing solutions and for demonstrating the benefits of NTN products. This includes following a customer centric approach with technical services to NTN customers such as application reviews, training programs, failure analysis, etc. Duties and Responsibilities ▪ Provide technical expertise on the NTN product line to internal and external customers on matters relating to bearing applications and related bearing system requirements.

  • In depth bearing failure analysis and machine troubleshooting o Bearing selection and machine redesign to prolong bearing life and up time
  • Technical training presentations and hands on demonstrations.
▪ Responsible for adherence to NTN’s Professional Management Practice Plan. This includes maintaining project documentation such as engineering drawings, technical reviews, root cause failure analysis and application design recommendations. ▪ Frequent communication with internal and external customers
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with customers as necessary to discuss engineering projects.
  • Plan, prepare, participate and present training presentations at NBCC head office, clients and trade/technical organizations
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients o Mentor staff on technical engineering solutions selling.
▪ Adhere to all company Business Code of Conduct policies, all policies, procedures, and dress code. ▪ Performs other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Mechanical Engineering principles involving advanced subjects in math, design, drawing, statics and dynamics
  • Familiar with industrial equipment, troubleshooting and mechanically inclined
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Teams
  • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
  • Hands on mechanical aptitude
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timelinedriven environment
  • Excellent ‘people skills’, with strong communication skills (verbal and written), and strong presentation skills
  • Bilingual in French and English and asset
Education and Professional Experience
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or an appropriate related engineering discipline
  • Registration in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or, ability to obtain P.Eng. or E.I.T. licensure with PEO
