The Faculty of Law/Te Kaupeka Tātai Ture is seeking to appoint a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in our compulsory Property Law course with a special emphasis on trusts and equity. Otago was the first University to teach Law in Aotearoa New Zealand, beginning in 1873. The Faculty has a long history of excellence and is a leader in legal research in New Zealand, with strong links to international research networks. Otago's legal research community consists of top-quality academics and postgraduate students from New Zealand and overseas, with a strong record of publications. Te mahi/The role The Faculty of Law/Te Kaupeka Tātai Ture is seeking a highly motivated, suitably qualified candidate committed to excellence in delivering high-quality research-informed teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the compulsory property law curriculum and to deliver elective courses in related topics, as well as having a strong commitment to producing high-quality scholarship. This is a unique opportunity for an energetic, creative, and committed scholar to make a significant contribution within their chosen discipline while being well supported by a collegial and dynamic Faculty and University. Minimum Requirements Successful candidates will have a postgraduate law degree or equivalent experience and publications. The faculty particularly welcomes applications from Māori and Pasifika scholars. This is a permanent, full-time (1.0 FTE) position, located in Dunedin.
