Position: COO/Program Director Organisation: PRIDE India Reporting to: President/Board of Trustees Location: Head Office Mumbai About The PRIDE India: The PRIDE India is a non-governmental organization committed to bringing a sustainable change in the marginalized communities living in rural and urban poverty by helping them lead lives filled with dignity and self-respect. We work across various thematic areas including Health Care and Sanitation, Child Centric Development, Ideal Village, Livelihood Development, Women Empowerment, Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation. Role Overview : The Chief Operating Officer (COO)/Program Director will oversee and coordinate all operational and programmatic aspects of The PRIDE India. This dynamic and experienced leader will align the organisation’s strategic goals with daily operations, ensuring the efficient delivery of impactful programs while fostering sustainable development in the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities Strategic and Program Leadership

  • Develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan in collaboration with the President and Executive Board.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Promote integration and coordination across thematic areas, including Child-Centric Development, Health Care, Livelihood Development, Women Empowerment, and Disaster Relief.
  • Drive innovation and scalability of programs by refining operational strategies and initiating new initiatives in line with community needs and organizational priorities.
  • Ensure robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track program impact, improve performance, and ensure sustainability.
2. Operational Oversight
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure smooth operational workflows.
  • Continuously assess and improve systems and processes for enhanced efficiency and compliance with regulatory, legal, and donor requirements.
  • Provide leadership to department heads, fostering collaboration and a high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in project management, financial operations, and human resources.
3. Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and support program and operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Guide the professional development of staff through training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment that encourages innovation and creativity.
4. Financial Management
  • Work closely with the Finance Department to develop and manage the organization’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure effective resource allocation and compliance with donor guidelines and internal controls.
  • Provide regular financial updates to the Executive Board, ensuring transparency and accountability.
5. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, government agencies, community partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent The PRIDE India at public forums and events to advance the organization’s mission and enhance visibility.
  • Collaborate with the Resource Mobilization team to secure funding opportunities.
  • Lead advocacy initiatives to influence policy changes in health, education, and socio-economic development for marginalized communities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in the non-profit sector and relevant thematic areas.
  • Proven track record in program management, operational oversight, and financial sustainability.
  • Strong understanding of community development issues and challenges in marginalized populations in India.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software.
