Housekeeping Operative (Evening Shift) - UPMC Aut Even Location: Aut Even Hospital Job type: Permanent Overview of role: UPMC Aut Even Hospital is recruiting a Housekeeping Operative for the evening shift from 6pm - 10pm, Monday to Friday. The role is to ensure all waste, both domestic and clinical, is removed, processed, and stored according to the waste management policy. Cleaning must be carried out to hospital infection and prevention standards at all times. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleaning of Clinical & Non-Clinical departments
- Waste removals and management
- Follow all SOPs and policies
- Liaise with Waste Removal Operators to ensure accuracy of collections and removals
- Keep all equipment clean and in good condition
- Operate machinery supplied for Waste Management and Cleaning, ensuring all safety measures are met
- Maintain floors using scrubber dryer and buffer
- Remove waste and linen to designated collection areas
- Wash walls, ledges, doors, windows, and sanitary ware as per specification
- Dust control, vacuum, and/or mop floors and stairs as per specification
- Restock disposables and consumables as required
- Carry out deep cleans in all departments as requested
- Clean and disinfect all cleaning equipment daily
- Wash and dry cleaning cloths and mop heads after every use
- Ensure all checklists are signed off and returned to the manager/supervisor
- Keep clinical bin stores in clean and well-maintained condition
- Greet and engage with patients
- Uphold UPMC Hospital’s policy requirements in relation to Fire, Infection Control, and Health and Safety regulations
- Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; full training is provided
- Good interpersonal skills
- Provision of customer service is paramount
- High level of attention to detail, efficiency, and accuracy in all duties
- Good oral and written English
