This position is on behalf of one of our client companies, not a direct role with Imploy. We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead and enhance the company’s risk management framework. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring financial, operational, regulatory, and strategic risks. This role requires a deep understanding of global financial markets, regulatory environments in the Gulf region, and best practices in risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment and Strategy Development:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
  • Identify key risks across business units, including market, credit, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the executive leadership team on risk appetite, tolerance, and mitigation strategies.

Regulatory Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure compliance with regional and international regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, FATF, AML).
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders regarding risk matters.
  • Implement robust internal controls and governance structures to uphold accountability.

Risk Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop risk dashboards and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for continuous monitoring and reporting to senior management and the board.
  • Analyze emerging risks, industry trends, and geopolitical factors affecting the financial industry.
  • Lead the preparation of risk reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and mentor a high-performing risk management team.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture throughout the organization through training, workshops, and communication.

Business Continuity and Crisis Management:

  • Design and implement business continuity plans (BCP) and crisis management frameworks to ensure resilience.
  • Coordinate stress testing, scenario analysis, and contingency planning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA or MSc) is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, PRM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably within an international financial institution.
  • Proven track record of managing risk in complex regulatory environments, particularly within the Gulf region or similar markets.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with expertise in risk modeling and data analytics.
  • Excellent understanding of global financial markets, derivatives, and investment products.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change at the executive level.
  • Proficient in risk management software and tools.
