Certified Elevator Mechanic
Job details
Only those applicants with a minimum of 7 years previous Elevator Mechanic experience will be considered. Only resumes in English will be accepted. Fluent English required (written and oral) Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout of system components Perform preparatory construction work including steel work, wiring and piping Install, service and modernize elevators, escalators, moving walkways, dumbwaiters and related equipment according to specifications Connect car frames to counterweights with cables and assemble elevator cars Install and wire electric and electronic control system devices Install, test and adjust safety control devices Test operation of newly installed equipment Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures Disassemble defective units and repair or replace worn or suspect parts Adjust valves, ratchets, seals, brake linings and other components Carry out preventative maintenance programs to ensure public safety. Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout of system components Hydraulic Elevator Packing/Piston changes Cab Refurbishment, Rope and Belt replacement and Upgrading of Door Operators *Must be able to read both mechanical and electrical prints and be able to use a drill!*Assess and repair any breakdowns in service based upon changes in provincial building and elevator codes *All BC Mechanics must be approved by TSBC and AIT in Alberta Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $52.00-$65.00 per hour Additional pay:
