Job Title: Principal Engineer – Systems Engineering Location: Coventry (Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available – speak to your recruiter for details). Salary: £52,000 - £62,000 (+Benefits) What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as a subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance on Systems Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coaching and mentoring team members in best practices for Systems Engineering.
- Leading activities and overseeing the tailoring and development of Systems Engineering practices to meet the needs of specific projects or programmes.
- Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to develop and deliver optimised systems, ensuring clear communication and negotiation throughout.
- Applying your expertise in a given domain while quickly absorbing and processing new domain knowledge as required.
- Working collaboratively across Engineering disciplines and other functional teams.
- Extensive experience in Systems Engineering , with knowledge spanning the full engineering lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering approaches, processes, and procedures .
- Solid foundation in engineering science, including the physics, chemistry, and mathematics underlying engineering principles.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics-related discipline.
- Awareness of the multidisciplinary factors impacting system design, including engineering, law, commerce, management, logistics, and politics.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution and Chartered status (or demonstrable progress towards achieving Chartership).
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and assist others in their professional development.
