Overview Responsible for leading and operating the on-site test facility for our alpha energy storage system plus our other test rigs. To liaise with suppliers and represent CEL at the supplier’s Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for the various subsystems. Collaborating with the engine valve-actuation team to develop the in-house FAT and testing program to ensure delivery of highly reliable equipment. Role Responsibilities

  • Lead, and operate CEL’s Alpha Energy Storage System
  • Develop and maintain standardised testing documentation, such as test plans test cases.
  • Lead implementation of process and procedure changes throughout assigned areas.
  • Monitor and report designated development and testing activities
  • Lead resolution of issues and faults associated with the operation and performance of the test facility
  • Work with technical autonomy and provide advice and guidance to other technical staff.
  • Provide guidance and support on Health, Safety, Environmental, Integrity & Quality aspects of discipline of work to achieve fit-for-purpose engineering
  • Ensure all members of CEL and visitors understand the need for safe working practices and adhere to the safe working methods
  • Operate Safe Systems of Work that comply with the company HSE procedures
  • Ensure quality and regulatory compliance through design and equipment qualification
  • Manage, review and develop the day-to-day capability of the team and test facilities to ensure continuous improvement
  • Provide technical support relating to assembly and test processes to improve design and manufacturing of all CEL systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business objectives are met
Skills, Knowledge and Experience ESSENTIAL
  • Previous experience as a Testing Engineer/ Project Engineer/ Controls Engineer/Commissioning Engineer
  • Previous experience running test rigs, engine dyno’s or similar
  • Experience working with pressure equipment would be advantageous
  • The ability to manage concurrent projects covering upgrade, repair and testing
  • A qualification or previous education in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field.
DESIRABLE (IF ANY)
  • To be multi-disciplined (Mechanical/electrical/controls)
  • Experience within the industrial gases, energy, nuclear, oil & gas, chemical or water sectors
