Overview Nexeya Canada, A Hensoldt Company, is seeking an Electronic Engineering DESIGNER with expertise in designing, maintaining, and validating electronic modules for automated test equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, technical innovation, and ensuring the reliability and safety of electronic systems. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Modules Maintenance:
  • Enhance existing modules by proposing and implementing upgrades to improve performance and reliability. Evaluate new components and research alternatives for obsolete parts.
  • Development:
  • Design new modules based on provided specifications, including schematic design, PCB layout creation, Bill of Materials (BOM) and Gerber file generation, drafting engineering change orders, and developing test procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all electronic products comply with health, safety, and industry-specific standards (e.G., CE, CSA, UL, RoHS).
  • Travel:
  • Occasional travel may be required to support projects and clients.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years in electronic design and troubleshooting.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Designing measurement circuits for a wide range of voltages, currents, leakages, and arc detection.
  • Designing programmable voltage and current sources.
  • Designing analog and mixed-signal electronic circuits on multi-layer PCBs.
  • Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, and USB communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in embedded firmware programming (preferably with Microchip).
  • Certifications and Standards:
  • Familiarity with certification processes such as CE, CSA, UL, and RoHS.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Experience with PADS design software (schematic and PCB layouts).
  • Familiarity with document control software.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Strong soldering skills, team collaboration, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Relationships
  • Perform other duties related to the position as required for the overall benefit of Nexeya Canada.
  • Report directly to the Director of Engineering.
