Production Manager (Automotive)

JOB- Production Manager (Automotive Sector) LOCATION- York TERM- Permanent SALARY- £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled Production Manager to join a prominent automotive manufacturing company based in York. This role involves overseeing the production processes, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering high-quality products to meet customer demands. The Production Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience in a production management role within the automotive or manufacturing sector
• Strong knowledge of production processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems to manage production schedules
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally

• Managing and coordinating daily production activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
• Leading and mentoring a production team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
• Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Monitoring key performance indicators and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering and quality, to resolve issues and optimize processes
• Managing production budgets, resources, and schedules
• Staying informed about industry trends and best practices to maintain a competitive edge
