National Business Unit Lead - Engineering Geology We have a fantastic opportunity for National Manager - Engineering Geology to be based in either Auckland or Wellington. You will be responsible for growing the service line through providing complete engineering geological services that give clients confidence that the risks in the ground will be identified and addressed. Provide operational management and leadership of the service line to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients and our stakeholders through maximizing commercial, people and project outcomes. Ensuring that service lines are connected and work seamlessly with other service lines, sub-sectors, and other operational parts of the business is a key factor of success. The Role:
  • Develop business to business growth and sales plans, including implementation of sub sector and service line strategies, client strategies and market development strategies.
  • Lead and build a high-performance learning organisation with a culture of exceptional collaboration, and role model values and desired behaviours.
  • Promote effective teamwork, proactively encouraging working collaboratively across boundaries.
  • Act as a Senior Project Manager/Project Director with a strong focus on service excellence for Engineering Geology projects.
  • Effectively plan projects and assist project managers to correctly scope their projects with appropriate inputs, outputs, implementation activities, verification and technical review.
  • Provide operational management and leadership of the service line to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients and our stakeholders through maximizing commercial, people and project outcomes.
  • Partner with the leadership team to drive business efficiencies and performance.
  • Manage the pipeline to create a sustainable long term business model.
  • Contribute to the success of our business in meeting its business and strategic objectives by providing appropriate technical advice and ensuring effective management of clients, staff and projects.
  • Prepare and lead client presentations and/or proposals.
  • Undertake investigations, inspections, and develop solutions for clients.
  • Undertake and/or arrange appropriate technical reviews and verification of work.
  • Ensure knowledge management business processes are in place and utilised, specifically in, but not limited to: remote and field-based mapping and investigation techniques, assess geological hazards, investigation and interpretation of ground conditions for engineering design, assessment of hazards and evaluation of risk.
Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ professional experience in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an infrastructure related management position.
  • Experience in developing new business by identifying and capitalising on opportunities to increase revenue, and profit, and expand market penetration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, and technical staff.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing business plans.
  • Extensive senior project management experience with a strong commercial focus and risk management framework.
  • Proven experience of developing effective relationships with clients and developing client pipelines and prospects across the industry/sector.
