You will be responsible for interpreting and processing complex transactions, conducting cash reconciliations, and contributing to business process improvements. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, setting up, and executing workflows to optimize processes and support new strategies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, work well independently, and be committed to fostering a collaborative and enjoyable team environment.THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Solutions, the Analyst interprets and processes a high volume of complex transactions, conducts cash reconciliations, provides input into business process improvements for the branch, and is responsible for supporting the daily maintenance of a stable, reliable, and high performing accounting book of record, SimCorp Dimension (SCD). They troubleshoot exceptions to smooth transaction flow-through to SCD and respond to inquiries from within IO and other departments across BCI. The Analyst is also responsible for the design, setup and execution of workflows and tools to optimize current processes and support new strategies and initiatives. The Analyst is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, investigating, and rectifying any issues as identified by internal and external stakeholders in an effective and efficient manner. They work well independently, show resourcefulness and continuous improvement, and communicate effectively. The Analyst also promotes knowledge sharing with both internal and external parties in a professional and fun team-based environment. Occasionally, this position may be required to work outside of normal BCI office hours due to the nature of the work.WHAT YOU BRING
- University degree or College Diploma in Finance, Economics, Business, Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of related experience, preferably with an asset management, investment firm or banking institution or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
- Good understanding of investment industry operations, investment lifecycles, cash management and basic accounting principles
- Organized self-starter with proven problem-solving abilities and an eye for detail
- Collaborates and communicates effectively in a diverse interdependent team environment
- Works well under pressure to prioritize competing tasks and meet critical deadlines
- Ability to navigate multiple complex software systems and adapt to new technology
- Experience with analytical/reporting tools (Excel VBA, Power BI, SQL, etc.) is an asset
- Pursuing a professional designation (e.g. CFA, CA, CPA, MBA, CAIA, FRM) or industry accreditation is an asset
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Demonstrates the ability to accurately monitor and process daily BAU activity across multiple applications, including illiquid transactions, cash movements, reconciliations, non-standard workflows, and lifecycle events across instrument types, to ensure accurate accounting and custody books of record for BCI
- Utilizes strong analytical and investigation skills to resolve transaction exceptions, escalating when necessary
- Identifies opportunities to optimize branch workflows through a process improvement mindset
- Provides support as needed in testing, documentation, and execution of cross-departmental projects and initiatives
- Collaborates with internal and external partners and promotes knowledge sharing
- Is familiar with the minimum audit and internal control framework and actively adheres to compliance and risk management policies
- Other responsibilities as delegated

Work from our downtown Victoria office. We are an in-person collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely 1-day a week.SALARY RANGE
BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off. The annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role is CAD $77,000 to $90,000. The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity. We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.
