JOB PURPOSE To plan vessel planning activities in order to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of terminal operations, minimizing unproductive moves and ensuring compliance with terminal policy and procedures while considering operational cost effectiveness and safety factors. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Receive ship structure/vessel profile, stack weight, reefer slots, and hatch covers from the shipping line and update in TOS.
  2. Review all relevant data and information such as the BAPLIE and MOVINS, and revert to the respective vessel agent in case of discrepancies.
  3. Create a plan (welcome package) after the cut-off time for the assigned vessel/s and ensure that it is shared with the respective vessel agents and chief officers at least 4 hours before ETB, ensuring strict adherence to it.
  4. Compare the figures of Zodiac-OPS and N4 and ensure that they match, keeping a copy in the shared folder for future reference.
  5. Maximize optimization opportunities in the crane plan for Twin lift, Tandem lift, Dual Cycling, etc.
  6. Identify all information such as OOGs, Reefers, Break Bulk, IMDG, Connection boxes, Direct deliveries, Re-stows, etc., for a particular vessel and make necessary preparations if required.
  7. Analyze the crane program and check for opportunities to reduce heavy hook by suggesting changes to the respective Central Planner.
  8. Notify the respective vessel agent if any vessel does not match the window agreement.
  9. Ensure to save all communications and information pertaining to a particular vessel in the shared folder for access by other Planners and Supervision.
  10. Comply with guidelines from the direct manager and ensure implementation.
  11. Optimize Quay and yard operations to achieve set KPIs.
  12. Be responsible for safety and discipline in the work area.
  13. Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards, Safe Work Practices, and HSE policy.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  1. Experience in container terminal operations: 3-5 years
  2. Understanding of vessel characteristics/dimensions and factors impacting vessel stability
  3. Work experience in container terminal operating systems
  4. Education: Diploma/Graduate
  5. Excellent computer operating skills
