Technical Design Director - Structures

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Technical Design Director Structures to join our team in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the structural design aspects of our cutting-edge projects, ensuring technical excellence and innovation throughout the design process. Responsibilities:

1. Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
2. Develop and implement structural design strategies for complex large-scale construction projects.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP systems.
4. Ensure compliance with local and international building codes and regulations with a focus on UAE standards.
5. Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
6. Implement and optimize the use of advanced structural engineering software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies.
7. Conduct quality assurance reviews to maintain the highest standards of structural integrity and safety.
8. Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions.
9. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices.
10. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources for structural design components.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
2. Professional Engineering (PE) license.
3. 20 years of experience in structural engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
4. Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex construction projects.
5. Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project management tools.
6. In-depth understanding of various structural systems, materials, and sustainable design principles.
7. Comprehensive knowledge of international building codes and regulations with specific expertise in UAE standards.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
9. Excellent communication and presentation abilities with the capacity to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
10. Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to mentor and develop team members.
11. Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing client relationships.
12. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
