Main Objectives

Ensure that all technical activities of Gulf Air are carried out according to the standards required by the relevant support agreements, the approved Aircraft Maintenance Programme, the responsible national authorities, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Main Duties

(Against primary discipline). By Aircraft/Structure/Subject Responsibility (by ATA Chapter assignment):
  1. Utilizes technical expertise and practical experience to disposition complex technical issues.
  2. Evaluates all manufacturers/regulatory authority documents (e.g., ADs; SBs; SILs; All Operators Telexes) by completing Engineering Documents Review and making independent decisions regarding implementation based on analysis of available data, issuing appropriate documents via MIS (AMOS) such as DO; JC; MSN; and EB, ensuring it is carried out to the highest industry standard.
  3. Provides technical support to the maintenance department for troubleshooting and damage assessment by direct involvement in the works and by issuance and follow-up of inquiries for support by the aircraft manufacturer or vendor.
  4. Controls the aircraft dent and buckle/structural repair charts.
  5. Reviews structural reports of damage found during checks or as a result of operational induced damage (bird strikes, lightning strike, etc.).
  6. Carries out damage assessment and determines the best course of action for rectification.
  7. Liaises with Boeing/Airbus Service Engineering on getting timely approval of repairs.
  8. Follows up on establishment of inspections for continuing airworthiness requirements.
  9. Liaises with Boeing/Airbus Engineering in continuous development of SRM repairs.
  10. Produces the necessary reports in case of technical investigations or analysis performed.
  11. Responsible for the requested occurrence/incidents investigations regarding structures and interior.
  12. Follows up on inspections or modifications, maintenance tasks done during the operation.
  13. Knowledge of EASA part-145, part-21, and sub part-CAMO requirements.
  14. Liaises with aircraft manufacturers, vendors, overhaul agencies, and other airlines on behalf of GFA to resolve in-service and production problems.
  15. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, preferably those created by Airbus/Boeing.
  16. Familiar with the documents needed to routinely maintain commercial aircraft: Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), etc.
  17. Undertakes any special assignments and projects as defined and directed by the MFTS&I.
  18. Attends internal and external meetings as directed by SME or MFTS&I.

Experience

8+ years of experience in aircraft structure maintenance, with a minimum of 5+ years in structure technical services function, and at least 3 years at GFA type fleet (A320/B787) desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Aerospace Engineering/Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Good knowledge of IT tools (Office products).
  • AMOS knowledge highly desirable.
