Overview: The Senior Engineer - Instrumentation will be responsible for designing, specifying, and implementing field instruments and instrumentation packages for offshore oil and gas projects. This includes experience with various instrumentation packages such as WHCP, MPFM, HIPPS, and Fiscal Metering. The role involves cable routing, hook-up, MTOs, layout design, and vendor coordination. The Senior Engineer will ensure compliance with Qatar Gas (QG), Qatar Petroleum (QP) standards and assist in site surveys, reports, and pre-commissioning activities. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and specification of field instruments and instrumentation packages including WHCP, MPFM, HIPPS, Fiscal Metering, and Fire & Gas Detection/Alarming systems.
  • Create and review specifications, requisitions, and technical bid evaluations (TBE) for instrumentation.
  • Supervise field design activities such as cable routing, hook-ups, bulk MTOs, instrumentation layouts, and 3D model reviews.
  • Conduct vendor follow-up and ensure instrumentation systems meet project standards and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure instrumentation systems are correctly integrated into project designs.
  • Perform site surveys and provide technical support during pre-commissioning, fabrication, and testing stages.
  • Maintain compliance with QG, QP standards, and relevant international regulations throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project deliverables, documentation, and reporting.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
  • Specialization in Instrumentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation.
Years of Experience:
  • More than 10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
Technical Knowledge:
  1. Proven experience in field instrumentation and/or instrumentation packages such as WHCP, MPFM, HIPPS, Fiscal Metering, and Fire & Gas Detection/Alarming systems.
  2. Expertise in field design activities such as cable routing, hook-up, bulk MTOs, instrumentation layouts, and 3D model supervision.
