Design Manager

Responsibilities:

1. Responsibility and accountability for design and technical detailing across all design stages through IFC delivery within allocated timeline as per contract.
2. Must carry out design and constructability assessment technical and QAQC reviews.
3. Must deal with local authorities having jurisdiction over regulatory compliance aspects.
4. Prepare and review design reports and update project specifications as necessary.
5. Identify multidisciplinary scope gaps and inform the project director / commercial team.
6. Assist the Project Director in preparing and finalizing the Design Management Plan and Project Execution Plan.
7. Prepare / Assist in preparing internal monthly progress reports.
8. Arrange and lead internal coordination meetings.
9. Assist in managing internal resources based on project budget.
10. Identify and assist in managing design-associated risks mitigation strategies and/or escalation.
11. Managing the stakeholders approvals of the design and samples based on contract deliverables.
12. Ensuring design management is consistent across project components and phases based on UA design principles and ethos.
13. Provide technical support for the commercial team including attending contract meetings by presenting project dashboard and seeking advice as necessary by Project directors / Directors.
14. Manage the design process efficiently using change requests, risks, and design to budget by protecting the interest of the stakeholders involved.
15. Ensuring the design process is aligned with current legislation, international standards, and codes of practice.
16. Liaise with statutory authorities and other relevant third parties.
17. Manage internal & external tendering processes based on procurement strategy.
