The opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Projects team in Melbourne. In this role, you will be working with leading partners Alison Dodd, Juan-Jose Zentner and Jim Theodore, as well as infrastructure and energy specialists across the Australia and Asia Pacific region in our corporate, project finance, property, and environment and planning groups. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on high profile, complex infrastructure and energy projects with leading sponsors, developers, financiers and contractors. You will develop excellent market knowledge and close client relationships, with the chance to undertake client secondments to broaden your commercial experience. Primarily you will advise on, prepare and negotiate a range of agreement types, including engineer procure construct, operation and maintenance, grid connection, design and construct, PPP project deeds, PPP subcontracts and alliance contracts. Skills, experience and qualifications To be successful, you will have exceptional technical skills, commerciality and communication. We want lawyers with a passion for renewables and/or large infrastructure projects who take the initiative and 'own' their work. We recognise the value of diverse backgrounds and experiences, whether big, mid-tier and boutique firms, in-house roles or overseas. We will consider all candidates who understand core construction/procurement principles. Lawyers with the right fundamental skills will readily develop market specific knowledge with our support. Ideally, you will have at least 6 year’s post qualification experience; however, we are open to considering candidates with more or less experience.
