Our client is a global organization focusing on sustainable resource solutions, including mining services, land reclamation, and engineering consulting. This role requires relocation to Sudbury, ON. Role Overview
- Location : Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
- Ideal Background : Drill and blast, especially with pit construction experience
- Management :
- Manage the Mining Engineering, Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, and Data Management staff.
- Oversee blasting operations, manage engineers, and ensure smooth operations.
- Performance management of direct reports to meet targets.
- Technical :
- Ensure designs, planning, measuring, recording, and reporting of mining, environmental, and pit development activities are conducted to improve operational and financial effectiveness.
- Ultimate responsibility for drill & blast design and scheduling of operations.
- Maintain and enhance mine planning and design for all aspects of the mine workings.
- Ensure environmental monitoring is conducted to relevant standards and frequencies.
- Safety & Compliance :
- Assist the project manager with the implementation and maintenance of the Project Safety & Health Management Plan (SHMP).
- Utilize feedback from OCE, SSHR, and Supervisors to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all incidents are reported according to procedures.
- Manage geotechnical issues and engage specialist advice as required.
- 4 direct reports: Principal Mine Engineer, Chief Geologist, Chief Blast Engineer, and Geotech Engineer
