Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Windsor, Ontario Full-Time, Permanent Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing and automation solutions, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical designer with exceptional skills in SolidWorks, capable of managing complex design projects and providing innovative solutions for automation systems. The successful candidate will lead mechanical design efforts, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and efficient designs tailored to client needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and optimize complex mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks .
- Lead the creation of 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing teams, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Conduct design reviews, implement revisions, and troubleshoot design challenges as required.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering technical growth within the team.
- Perform tolerance analyses, material selection, and feasibility studies to ensure functional, cost-effective designs.
- Support testing and validation efforts by creating prototypes and ensuring alignment with performance criteria.
- Maintain thorough project documentation, including design specifications, revisions, and change management records.
- Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in mechanical design and automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automation or manufacturing.
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks , including advanced modeling, assembly, and drawing skills.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with designing automated systems, tooling, or custom machinery is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead less-experienced team members.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering quality work.
