We are currently hiring a Field Adjuster II to join our Claims team based in the Lower Mainland Region ! Please note that this is a Remote Field Adjusting role based out of the Lower Mainland Region. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office (Burnaby) or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered. As a Field Adjuster II , you will operate within Claims Performance Standards to Property and Casualty Insurance Claims (homeowners, recreational vehicle, travel accident benefits) requiring field investigation and determine if coverage is available for a loss within the insuring agreement, and then proceed to settle or deny the claim. What you’ll do:
  1. Advise insured of the rights and obligations in accordance with the policy and the appropriate Insurance Act.
  2. Investigate the claim to determine if the policy will respond to the loss and investigate the legitimacy of the claim.
  3. Interview and/or take statements from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses.
  4. Review information including, but not limited to, estimates, photos and/or videos of property damage, proof of ownership, hospital records, and other pertinent information required to fully substantiate the claim.
  5. Maintain updated, current and organized claims files in accordance with Claims Performance Standards.
  6. Negotiate a fair and cost-effective settlement with the insured, claimants, or claimant’s legal representative either directly or through the services of retained counsel.
  7. Validate information, including but not limited to invoices and receipts.
  8. Process payments in accordance with BCAA best practices.
  9. Arrange disposal of salvage arising from settled claims in accordance with departmental standards.
  10. Ability to work remotely and occasionally commute to the office as claims arise or operational needs shift, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to business priorities.
What you bring:
  1. Post-secondary diploma in business or related courses, programs, licenses (insurance related) and/or equivalent work experience.
  2. 5 to 8 years in a claims environment.
  3. Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Bonus Skills and Experience:
  1. Second language.

The salary range for this position is $73,167.96 to $91,460.04 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand, and internal equity.
