Events Specialist Revenue Development | Location: Vancouver The Role: As our Events Specialist in Vancouver, you will play an integral role in Arthritis Society Canada’s growth through donor engagement in support of our spectacular series of best-in-class annual events and cultivation activities. In this exciting new role, you will collaborate with our bright and talented local team of Fundraisers in providing the ‘gold standard’ in guest and donor sponsor experience. Our Revenue Development Team: Our revenue development team is made up of talented fundraising professionals across Canada, in the areas of major giving, planned giving, events and annual giving, who work closely with our community of generous loyal donors to turn shared visions, passions and interests into meaningful impact in fighting the fire of arthritis. We are a nationwide charity with local impact, and the donations from these individuals makes a difference for people living with arthritis in every province. Key Accountabilities: Collaborating with the Director, Development, Western Canada, the Events Specialist will lead, plan, coordinate and execute the British Columbia region’s fundraising and donor relations events, including, but not limited to:
- Working alongside the Director and various event committees to lead and plan the “look and feel” of each event.
- Working closely and in collaboration with venue, décor partners and production partners to ensure seamless planning and execution of each event.
- Organizing and attending all event committee meetings to support our Chairs and Director.
- Working with our event committees and event volunteers, including recruitment and training.
- Ownership of all event logistics and executions.
- Responsibility for managing and soliciting gifts in kind, and silent and live auctions.
- Updating and monitoring our events webpages.
- Responsibility for building event pitch decks, i.E. sponsorship, information pages, marketing decks, etc.
- Supporting donor engagement activities and communications, as required.
- Creating and executing all event administration and database management.
- Ensuring all event activities and documents are tracked in Raiser’s Edge accordingly.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in event execution and fundraising.
- Driven, energetic, self-motivated, results-oriented, detail oriented, creative, and passionate.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver excellent, timely customer service.
- Strong level of comfort and experience with donor databases (Raiser’s Edge experience preferred) and Microsoft Office. Experience with Givergy or other silent auction related platforms, and Canva, an asset.
