Strategic Lead Family Violence Waitematā Te Rito Rodney location Auckland. Role Strategic Lead. Term 12 months fixed term contract, location Waitematā – this role will be working across West Auckland, North Shore and Rodney. Hours of work 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday. Reporting to Te Ohu Kitenga. About us te Ohu Kitenga is the Governance Group overseeing multi-agency action on family violence across Waitematā district in Auckland. Te Ohu Kitenga operates under the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke model of Police family violence response. This group has been primarily focused on local responses after violence has occurred but is working to adopt a systems change approach to affect change on family violence across Waitematā. This shift will require a strong focus on collaboration, connection to community needs, and a capability building approach. This role will be employed by Te Rito Rodney Family Violence Prevention Project and collectively managed by the three family violence networks in Waitematā. The role is supported by Te Ohu Kitenga (includes - Police, Iwi, Te Whatu Ora, Oranga Tamariki, MSD, MOJ, Kainga ora, Corrections, MOE, Auckland Council, NGOs ). The role the Strategic Lead will support Te Ohu Kitenga to enhance collaboration and foster collective responsibility with a focus on shared purpose and values. Adopt a systems thinking approach to enable innovation across the family violence spectrum from prevention, early intervention, response and long-term healing. Understand key levers of change across the family violence system in Waitematā, including government agencies and non-government organisations. Strengthen relationships with iwi. Strengthen relationships with communities and enable whānau, family and community voice in developing the direction of local family violence responses. Create an approach and culture that is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Align with Te Aorerekura the national strategy on family and sexual violence. Lead the strategic priorities for the Collective and enable people to deliver them. Connect and partner with Te Puna Aonui to inform on the Te Ohu Kitenga priorities and influence central government change with alignment to work around Integrated Community Led Responses and Te Aorerekura – National Strategy for the Elimination of Family Violence and Sexual Violence. Support Multi-Disciplinary Governance growth and development. Key responsibilities strategic Leadership. Lead and drive a strategic approach for Te Ohu Kitenga with clear purpose. Develop a systems change approach to drive action on family violence in Waitematā. Strengthen and activate relationships across locally, regionally, and nationally to support local action on family violence. Develop a learning culture within Te Ohu Kitenga. Increase capability for strategic leadership within the Te Ohu Kitenga membership. Develop accountability of member organisations and Te Ohu Kitenga collectively. Delivering results develop a work plan with Te Ohu Kitenga. The deliverables will include but not limited to lead the strategic priorities for the Collective and enable people to deliver them. Connect and partner with Te Puna Aonui to inform on the Te Ohu Kitenga priorities and influence central government change with alignment to work around Integrated Community Led Responses and Te Aorerekura – National Strategy for the Elimination of Family Violence and Sexual Violence. Support Multi-Disciplinary Governance growth and development. Internal and External relationships strengthen relationships with the Te Ohu Kitenga membership, with non-government organisations, communities and iwi across Waitematā. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key government partners, including Te Puna Aonui. Establish and maintain strong relationships with other Strategic Leads across the country. Analysis and Reporting te Ohu Kitenga strategic leadership group . Subgroup (comprising three NGO reps). Te Rito Rodney  Manager ( day to day management). Experience, skills, attributes, qualifications senior family violence sector experience or related sector experience. Senior leadership experience. Senior experience in facilitation, co-ordination, problem-solving, driving collaboration, driving systems change. Preferable experience coordinating cross-sectoral or multi-disciplinary teams. Experience implementing continuous improvement of practices and processes. Experience working with government partners, communities and NGOs. Skills and knowledge strategic thinker. Systems thinker. Understands the dynamics of family violence.  Strong written and verbal communication. Can facilitate a group with diverse views to reach a consensus. Knowledge of and commitment to uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Able to multi-task and prioritise. Can confidently navigate different computer systems. Preferable knowledge of the Waitematā family violence sector and the broader family violence system. Natural leader. Flexible, adaptable, pro-active, takes initiative. Essential strong relationship skills. Quick learner. Works effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and with different needs. Sound judgement. Can keep-up with fast-paced work environment. Preferable established connections in the Waitematā family violence sector. Qualifications relevant tertiary qualification. Preferable post-graduate tertiary qualification. Other requirements legal ability work in New Zealand. Clean and valid NZ driver’s license. Access to your own vehicle. This role will be flexible in terms of remote work and on site. It will include extensive travelling within Auckland for meetings and events.
