The opportunity - Te tūranga In this role as Programmer, you will support the Senior Programmer and Head of TVNZ+ Programming to deliver a content proposition that delivers scale audiences to TVNZ+, across all functions, including marketing planning, research and content selection. Your focus will be:
Planning
- Prepare accurate and error-free TVNZ+ planning documents, including ownership of fortnightly highlights documents and marketing briefing process.
- Delivery of monthly core planning for Marketing, Publicity and Creative teams, including briefing document preparation, contribution to marketing recommendations and briefing teams with support from Senior Programmer.
Scheduling, publishing and curation
- Manage TVNZ+'s future YouTube channel aspirations, including content management and upload, channel curation, rights management and reporting.
Content selection and creation
- Support Head of TVNZ+ Programming and wider content team to deliver TVNZ's content strategy for TVNZ+.
- Content viewing, evaluation, recommendation, and first-pass review across international acquisition opportunities.
Research, Analysis and Reporting
- Compile analysis of individual show, genre and other bespoke reports as required, using dashboards and available analytics to support programming decisions and strategy delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development and implementation of a strategy, including contributing to the successful delivery of the strategy.
- Proven experience and success in programming to large scale audiences coupled with an intuitive grasp of programming for New Zealand audiences.
- Solid knowledge of marketing and communication channels and how these can be effectively exploited to maximise awareness.
- An empathy with NZ culture and understanding of the diverse composition and trends of the NZ population.
- Proven creative flair and intuitive grasp of programming for New Zealand audiences.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and prioritising skills to manage time and resources effectively.
- Knowledge of the NZ local production industry and overseas programme supply market.
- Extensive television industry knowledge, with emphasis on TVNZ digital competitors.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of TVNZ's commercial obligations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative audience research.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced transformative environment under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability of presenting to both small and large audiences in an engaging and relatable manner.
