Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Planning: Develop and implement audit plans for HSE management systems, including ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
- Audit Execution: Conduct HSE audits across various locations and departments, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Gap Analysis: Identify non-conformities, hazards, and gaps in the HSE systems and processes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports, summarizing findings, recommendations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement in safety and environmental standards.
- Follow-Up: Oversee and track corrective and preventive action plans to ensure that non-conformities are resolved effectively and within the established timeframe.
- Compliance: Ensure the organization’s HSE policies, programs, and management systems comply with relevant regulations, such as OSHA, EPA, and other industry standards.
- Training & Mentoring: Provide training and mentorship to internal HSE staff and departments on audit processes and compliance requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, legislation, and best practices to improve audit processes and overall HSE performance.
- Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessments and provide expert advice on hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Incident Investigations: Assist in investigating incidents or accidents to ensure that root causes are identified and that improvements are integrated into the HSE management system.
- Education: Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering.
- Certifications: Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) is required. Additional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in HSE auditing, with at least 3 years in a lead auditor role. Experience in the following industries is preferred: Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, FMCG, Chemical, Fertilizers, Cement, Steel, Construction, Power/Energy.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations, and standards; strong auditing, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills; ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams; strong organizational and time-management skills; proficiency with auditing tools and software.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to different company sites, cities for audits; strong leadership skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
