Responsibilities: Clinical Quality Management: General Ensure work carried out is according to hospital guidelines, policies, procedures and work instructions. Ensure the environment is safe and clean for staff and colleagues at all times. Participate in the care of equipment and supervise in housekeeping to maintain cleanliness. Assist the Staff Nurse to ensure all essential documentation is up to date and in order. Assist the Staff Nurse in the training of new staff on work processes. Monitor biological culture and proper documentation. Assist in verification of sterilization process and printout. Clinical Quality Management: Distribution Ensure that all instruments/sets have gone through sterilization process before distribution to user areas. Supervise all juniors in practicing First In First Out when keeping and withdrawing instruments for distribution. Perform duties in good handling of sterile goods. Clinical Quality Management: Decontamination Assist the Registered Nurse to check and ensure all staff practice Standard Precaution and put on full PPE. Ensure the safe handling of all contaminated soils received. Ensure that all washing equipment is filled with sufficient detergents. Properly dispose of soiled linen and waste as necessary. Clinical Quality Management: Preparation and Packing Assist the Registered Nurse to supervise subordinates in following established guidelines in their assembling and packing of instruments. Check and ensure that all sealing and culture monitoring equipment are in good working condition. Ensure and maintain a safe workplace for all staff to prevent accidents and injuries. Verify all sterilization process printouts when required. Prepare procedure trays for various dental procedures and be knowledgeable in all aspects of wrapping and packing. Load and operate steam, plasma sterilizers, washers and all other operating equipment. Management of Physical Resources Maintain accurate records on the movement of instruments/sets. Fast-track and process instruments to meet clinical service needs in a timely manner. Update changes and entries of instrument stock inventory. Replenish supplies as needed in the work areas. Exercise economy and care in the use of equipment and supplies. Staff Management Mentor new colleagues when assigned. Guide Healthcare Attendants in the course of their duties. Infection Control Provide guidance and direction to Health Care Attendants to ensure infection control and prevention of cross-infection. Others Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requirements: Graduate of National Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Certificate in Nursing or its equivalent. Able to exercise good customer service skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
