Job Purpose : The Anesthesiology Specialist provides high-quality, evidence-based anesthesia care, diagnoses, and treatment to patients. They ensure safe preoperative, operative, and postoperative care, while adhering to hospital policies and standards. Key Responsibilities :- Perform preoperative assessments and create safe anesthetic plans in collaboration with patients.
- Deliver anesthesia for elective and emergency obstetric/gynecological surgeries and labor epidurals.
- Manage acute pain care hospital-wide, ensuring safety and patient comfort.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained before administering anesthesia.
- Complete accurate, timely, and legible medical records.
- Provide on-call services with prompt response times.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to plan comprehensive patient care.
- Regularly review and adjust treatments based on diagnostic results.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Promote resource efficiency within the organization.
- Contribute to education and research by engaging in academic and innovative clinical projects.
- Stay updated on the latest anesthesia practices and technologies.
- Graduate degree in Medicine and Surgery (e.g., MBBS, MBBCh).
- Board certification in Anesthesiology and eligibility for a Specialist License in Qatar (as per MoPH criteria).
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in anesthesiology in a public or teaching hospital (GCC experience is preferred).
- Expertise in obstetric anesthesia and general anesthetic specialties.
- Familiarity with commissioning acute care facilities and accreditation processes (e.g., JCI).
- Leadership experience and ability to work within a multidisciplinary matrix organization.
- Strong organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills.
