Title: Senior Instrument Designer Job Description: The Designer executes the activities within his area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with the project QA/QC and HSE requirements:

  1. Drive an Incident Free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  2. Perform project technical tasks assigned by the Instrumentation Engineer consisting of design, checking, layout definition, installation drawings, and material definition of instrumentation installation elements.
  3. Design cable ways and MCT systems, resolve design clashes, and provide support for cable tray installation and Instrument Control & Power Cable laying and termination works.
  4. Extract and generate material take-offs (MTO) and bills of materials (BOM) for bulk materials.
  5. Create and manage installation, hook-up, layout, and junction box (JB) drawings, finalizing cable entries, cable routes, cable diversions, splicing works, and loop checking works.
  6. Participate actively in 3D model reviews, ensuring alignment with instrumentation design standards and resolving design issues.
  7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ensure that instrumentation designs comply with company standards & specifications and international standards.
  8. Preparation of Instrumentation deliverables including drawings, sketches, diagrams, lists, 3D models, MTOs, schedules, etc., in compliance with the Basis of Design and Quality procedures.
  9. Interface and coordinate with the other Project Team Specialists and Designers.
  10. Provide technical and engineering support to the construction team, perform site engineering activities during construction and pre-commissioning phases.
  11. Coordinate in retrieving the required existing drawings and documents from third-party asset owners.
  12. Participate in the development of as-built drawings/documentation.
  13. Review Client technical documentation and requirements.
Education & Experience:
  1. Degree or 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent from a reputed Institute/University.
  2. Minimum 10 years project experience in design and engineering of instrumentation systems, preferably in the oil and gas domain.
  3. Strong knowledge of RLIC standards & guidelines; previous experience of working in pipeline projects in Ras Laffan is preferred.
  4. Proficient in AutoCAD, E3D, SP3D, MicroStation, PDMS, PDS, and related design software.
  5. Experience in generating installation, hook-up, layout, and JB drawings, with a strong understanding of EPCI project instrumentation design processes.
  6. Good Knowledge of Electronic Document System (EDMS).
  7. Work independently with minimum supervision.
