Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled LED Digital Signage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the technical coordination, installation, and management of LED digital signage systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Job Responsibilities:
- Technical Coordination and Meetings:
- Attend site technical coordination meetings to review and discuss the contractor's submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, and other construction-related matters.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and milestones.
- Installation Supervision:
- Lead the on-site installation of LED screens, ensuring alignment, positioning, and structural integrity.
- Oversee the installation of network cables specifically for LED screens, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
- Perform configuration and calibration of LED screens to ensure optimal visual performance, including brightness, contrast, and color uniformity.
- Assemble and mount LED modules, power supplies, and control systems following technical specifications.
- Conduct daily site visits to verify installation works, ensuring compliance with contract documents and quality standards.
- Documentation and Approvals:
- Prepare and manage Transmittals (TR), Material Approval Requests (MAR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), and Work Inspection Requests (WIR).
- Coordinate with consultants for site inspections and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular daily and weekly reports to the Project Manager detailing project progress and any issues encountered.
- Liaise with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Perform routine maintenance checks on installed LED screens, ensuring ongoing optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair any issues that arise post-installation, either remotely or on-site.
- Manage warranty claims and coordinate with vendors for component replacements or repairs.
- Project Management:
- Plan and coordinate site visits to ensure efficient execution of projects, addressing any logistical challenges that arise.
- Guide fabrication work and select appropriate components for installations.
- Perform inward quality checks on LED modules, control cards, and SMPS to guarantee product reliability.
- System Configuration and Troubleshooting:
- Align, configure, and troubleshoot installations to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure remote application LED screen controllers and perform necessary program updates.
- Implement additional display features, including power savers, timers, and environmental display selection, to enhance user experience.
- Product Handling:
- Manage the installation and servicing of indoor/outdoor LED screens and all types and sizes of kiosks and interactive panels.
- Provide product demonstrations and training sessions to clients, ensuring they understand system capabilities and maintenance requirements.
- Technical Expertise:
- Work with video processors and controllers like NovaStar, Colorlight, Digibird, VD Wall, and screen-sharing devices.
- Assist electricians in proper cabling and switching practices.
- Perform load calculations and cable sizing as necessary.
- Work with LED modules with pixel pitches ranging from P1.5 to P20.
- Software Proficiency:
- Configure NovaStar controllers using Nova LCT software.
- Configure Colorlight controllers using LED Vision/LED Upgrade.
- Utilize VIPLEX Handy and PIXEL for content management and Aero CMS for managing digital signage content.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in digital signage, AV systems, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of digital signage hardware and software, including LED screens, video walls, media players, and content management systems (CMS).
- Proficiency in using AV design software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or scaffolding as necessary.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- A combination of office and field work, including site visits for installations and maintenance.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines or resolve urgent issues.
