Swisstel Al Murooj in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie specializing in European Cuisine to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating exquisite European dishes that delight our guests and uphold our reputation for culinary excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of European dishes to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Manage and oversee a specific section of the kitchen ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of dishes.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards in line with hotel policies and local regulations.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to develop innovative menu items and seasonal specials.
- Assist in managing food costs, minimizing waste, and optimizing kitchen resources.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Participate in menu planning and recipe development to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items to maintain freshness and reduce spoilage.
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant setting.
- Extensive knowledge of European cuisine, cooking techniques, and culinary trends.
- Strong proficiency in using professional kitchen equipment and excellent knife skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage a kitchen section.
- Creativity and passion for developing innovative dishes while maintaining classic European culinary traditions.
- Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
