Civil Inspector (Recycled Water infrastructure works)

Stantec is currently looking for Civil Inspector to support projects associated with stormwater & drainage, flood alleviation, wastewater networks, and water distribution networks. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and construction monitoring. Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

1. Technical Delivery:
1. Interacting with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements.
2. Preparing inspection reports and site records.
3. Performing civil and structural tests.
4. Providing general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
5. Identifying non-conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.
6. Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
2. Collaboration and working as part of a team:
1. Working in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems and support performing basic design calculations as required.
2. Conducting technical feasibility studies and site investigations.
3. Liaising with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks and projects.
4. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
5. Complete knowledge of existing infrastructure networks in the emirates of Dubai.
6. Experience in survey work with modern instruments and in keeping site measurement records.
3. Client Service Management:
1. Internal and external client liaison.
2. Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
3. Experience in utility diversions and management.
4. Follow safe work practices:
1. Adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
2. Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
3. Design for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.
5. Other duties:
1. As requested from time to time by the Assistant Resident Engineer.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree in Engineering from a recognized institute to the approval of the Engineer.
• 10 years of work experience.
• Experience in the construction and supervision of Recycled Water infrastructure works.
• Experience in DM infrastructure projects is an added advantage.
