Job Overview The Assistant Manager - Financial Operations is responsible for proactively utilizing critical thinking skills to make strategic and financial decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment involving multiple key business partners. This role is responsible for financial reconciliations, invoice approvals, and recognition of revenue. They manage a diverse set of responsibilities with the ability to shift priorities and complete a multitude of tasks in a rapidly, ever-changing operational environment. The Assistant Manager - Financial Operations researches and analyzes key metrics to understand trends to help maximize business efficiencies and results. In addition, the Assistant Manager - Financial Operations maintains a keen eye for innovation and process improvement. The Assistant Manager - Financial Operations will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a diverse team of Cast Members whose role is to act as a primary contact for internal and external partners to research, analyze, and provide guidance to solve financial escalations and inquiries, accurate application of payments received, revenue recognition, invoice reconciliation and payment, creation and maintenance of travel agency profiles, and partner with various key business partners daily. The Assistant Manager - Financial Operations monitors Cast Member performance and ensures pre-determined expectations are met or exceeded and provides their Cast Members with ongoing support, feedback, coaching, and development. Responsibilities Lead, coach, develop, and motivate a team of finance professionals to be trusted business thought partners by creating a fun, supportive, trusting environment of excellence and growth. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, partners, and support teams, including identification and resolution of system challenges. Prepare monthly department revenue reporting for distribution to senior leadership. Point of contact for Seaware accounting inquiries and challenges. Partner with Business Systems Management to bring efficiencies to systems upgrades by providing technical support for new system initiatives and participating in User Acceptance Testing. Provide assistance and expertise to internal partners to assist in interpreting financial transactions. Identify and implement continuous improvements to streamline and innovate processes and outputs. Leverage multiple software applications to effectively research, support, and manage a team. Adapt quickly to leadership direction and feedback. Provide support, lead, and assist with ad hoc requests/special projects assigned by leadership. Basic Qualifications Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to determine appropriate accounting treatment for transactions. Robust finance knowledge with a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (e.g. debits/credits, financial statements). Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey data and analysis to partners at all levels. Ability to synthesize financial information into a concise story and communicate to various levels of leadership. Ability to research and analyze key metrics to maximize business efficiencies. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify, understand, and resolve issues encountered during operations. Demonstrated strong partnership/networking, coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal relations skills; demonstrated ability to manage conflict/resolution. Demonstrated robust negotiating and influencing abilities; demonstrated ability to handle confidential information. Robust organizational and decision-making skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Ability to work independently, efficiently, and handle a high volume of tasks in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision. Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. Energetically embraces new thoughts and ideas while staying focused on continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of SAP, SeaWare (FIT), Fidelio, Business Objects, and all Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge and understanding of industry policies and procedures.
