The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. Key Responsibilities: The Project Officer will join the team to develop insect-computer hybrid robots control system: Design and fabrication of wirelessly controlled sensor-backpack mounting on living insects to (i) electronically stimulate their neurons and muscles to navigate them on demands and (ii) report environmental conditions Develop firmware, algorithm, data structure and user interface for sensor-backpack remote control Integrate customized algorithm in insect computer hybrid robot operation and test the operation of sensor-backpack on living insect Technical write up and presentation Job Requirements: Degree in Mechatronics/ Robotics/ Electrical and Electronics/ Computer Engineering Experience in PCB design and fabrication Experience in C/C++ programming for embedded system Experience in real time operating system development Experience in wireless communication (BLE, Sub-Ghz, UWB, etc ...) is advantageous Experience in C#, Java, JavaScript, Python is advantageous Knowledge and experience in insect anatomy and physiology is advantageous A team player and technically motivated to solve problems.
