Role Overview : Seeking an experienced Director, Operational Risk professional to join the London office, on a full-time basis. This high-impact individual contributor role is your chance to lead, shape, and elevate operational risk management across the organisation's international operations. As the go-to expert for operational risk in London, you’ll play a critical role in driving risk oversight and enhancing the risk framework. Ready to make your mark? Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the operational risk function, focusing on strategy, financial, technology, and cyber risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and deep dives into operational incidents, providing advisory support to various teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with investment and non-investment teams globally to foster a culture of risk awareness.
  • Ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, expectations, and industry standards in risk management across relevant jurisdictions, such as risk appetite statements, ICARA, ICAAP, and IRAP.
  • Participate in senior leadership forums and governance committees, presenting metrics and dashboards related to operational risk.
  • Collaborate with teams across EMEA and APAC to enhance risk oversight and presence outside the US.
Qualifications :
  • Significant experience in operational risk management within the investment management sector.
  • A bachelor's degree is required, with professional certifications (e.g., Operational Risk Manager certificate from PRMIA, CFA, FRM, or similar) considered an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage risk oversight in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, critically challenge assumptions and conclusions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in gathering and analysing complex data, assessing information and systems, and formulating logical conclusions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks relevant to the asset management industry.
  • Experience in credit or alternative investment strategies is highly desirable.
