Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off, 10-hour shifts Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Engineer to provide engineering support and execute projects within a business unit value stream. Reporting to the Lead, Facilities Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring successful project outcomes, including meeting schedule commitments, adhering to budget constraints, and delivering high-quality, safe solutions that meet stakeholder requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support to the business unit team by understanding and addressing their project needs.
  • Prioritize and manage engineering work orders in collaboration with the Small Projects Coordinator.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to established project execution standards.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams during the project scoping phase.
  • Obtain approval for Authorization for Expenditures (AFEs) and manage project budgets.
  • Work with engineers, designers, and third-party firms to create error-free work packages.
  • Review engineering deliverables with Maintenance and Construction teams to ensure designs are practical and constructible.
  • Perform risk assessments and change management for each project.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and forecasts for sustaining capital projects.
  • Provide support during procurement and construction phases of sustaining capital projects.
  • Develop and manage yearly budgets, cost forecasts, and long-range plans for projects.
  • Ensure proper project closeout and documentation completion.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Follow and enforce safe work procedures, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Report any incidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Proven experience in facilities engineering, project management, and delivering capital projects.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, safety-focused environment.
This position is a Fly-In, Fly-Out role requiring a 4-day on, 3-day off rotation with 10-hour workdays. You will be part of a collaborative team ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects while maintaining a focus on safety and operational excellence. Chartered flights are from Calgary or Edmonton, AB.
